Archer is writing the preface for a book being written by someone else about his father. Why is he only
doing the preface? If he knows about the book, surely he'd want to write it himself. As captain of his father's ship, he knows more
about his work than anyone, especially some author on Earth.
Why is the "invention" of Tactical Alert so big and important? Even 20th/21st century sea
going vessels such as submarines and air craft carriers have that.
This episode introduces the "Tactical Alert," and the "Red Alert" siren used in other Trek series.
Temporarily jokingly called "Reed Alert" (after Lt Reed), this "Tactical Alert" is the predecessor to the "Red Alert"
familiar to us from the other series.
With Mayweather sedated, T'Pol wakes Captain Archer to pilot the ship - is there no one else who can fly it,
or is Archer the next best pilot on the ship? Who was flying Enterprise while Mayweather was in Sickbay, and why doesn't T'Pol wake them?
T'Pol would have to familiarize with or study each person's obssession & personality before requesting their aid.
The ship was obviously on autopilot (flying in free space is relatively simple even for an unmanned probe). Autopilot
became inconvenient when they entered the asteroid field.
