J. Paul Boehmer (the SS officer) previously played the Nazi Kapitan [another SS officer] in the "Star Trek: Voyager" episodes "The Killing Game. Part I" & "The Killing Game, Part II", One in the "Star Trek: Voyager" episode "Drone", Vornar in the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" episode "Tacking into the Wind" and Mestral in the "Star Trek: Enterprise" episode "Carbon Creek".

The third season is the only one in which Vaughn Armstrong (Admiral Forrest) and John Fleck (Silik) do not appear. Both of these characters would later make two appearances in the fourth season and were killed during their second episode.

The ending of this episode is similar to Scott Bakula's other series "Quantum Leap" where at the end of each episode he's in another time and place not sure where or when he is.

Season Three of Star Trek: Enterprise is the first season of a canon Trek series to have no Klingons appear at any time throughout.
