Trip asks Archer for permission to take apart the Xindi-Reptillian weapon to study it. However, in "Rajiin", Archer said specifically that he wanted it taken apart to be studied.
   
Gralik mentioned that there was a sixth Xindi species, the Avians, that had become extinct.
   
As far as using the moon to test the weapon, perhaps the moon rotated fairly rapidly exposing all its surface to the planet in short order. Testing under those conditions could have alerted the Xindi on the planet to the Enterprise being in the system.
   
Inside the Xindi lab Reed pulls the fourth Kimosite canister from the crate and scans it. However, in the next shot as the Xindi are returning, the third canister is missing rather than the fourth.
   
Tucker tells T'Pol that they don't have time to find a deserted asteroid to test the Xindi-Reptilian weapon on. How about the big deserted moon that they are hiding behind?
