The book T'Pol gave Archer is "The Teachings of Surak: Complete and Unabridged – Translated from the Vulcan by Skon of Shi'Khar" Skon is the father of Sarek and grandfather of Spock. (We later find out that some of the teachings of Surak were missing from this book).

This episode marks Kellie Waymire's final appearance as Elizabeth Cutler. Sadly the actress died in November 2003 due to a Mitral Valve Prolapse.
