There is a sound effect that is dubbed in each time a
Com panel button is pressed. In the decon scene at the end, Phlox is calling them in
the chamber and T'Pol gets up to answer. When she presses the button to respond, the
sound effect is there, but at the end when she presses it again to end the conversation,
the sound effect is left out. |

Phlox concludes that Reed must have gotten his cold from a crate that was
brought onto Enterprise before the maiden voyage because the ship is hermetically sealed from against viruses
and such. Yet, Reed has been on numerous missions and situations when he's come into contact with aliens
(alive and dead, known and unknown), been crawling around on the ground on alien planets and has been injured
a few times. Enterprise is hardly hermetically sealing when the crew and aliens come and go every week,
therefore the cold could have be caused by anything. |

When Travis says, "There are two ships approaching at high warp," only
the Bird Of Prey is giving a warp signature -- the shuttlepod is docked on it. |

Surely the captain shouldn't put himself in such unnecessary risk by
going down to the ship alone. Someone else should have taken the shuttle down or at least accompanied him. |

After the three return from the Klingon ship they are shown sitting in
decontamination. If this is all it takes to get rid of any contaminants such as viruses or bacteria,
then Reed should have been able to use the decontamination room to get rid of his common cold. Further,
if you cannot get rid of contaminants that have already taken root in your system, it would not be a
very effective device. |
