If no technology works in the Forge, then why is it that the universal translator is working? Archer understands Arev and vice versa, yet Archer is not fluent in Vulcan, and Arev is not expecting a human so he would not be speaking English (or any other human language.) Surely T'pol would need to be a translator during these scenes.

About Arev: Maybe being around a human who doesn't control his emotions caused Arev to lose control of his slightly.

T'Pol speaks of having a sehlat for a pet, yet in the second season episode 'A Night in Sickbay' she was confused by Archer's attachment to Porthos. She seemed to consider having a pet as demeaning to all involved.

Although presumably Arev is a "true follower" of Surak and his teachings of logic and emotional restraint, he chuckles when Archer talks about the corrupted teachings of Surak.

Soval said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few (one)." This phrase was originally used in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, (1982), and on Enterprise, we learn that it is an ancient Vulcan saying.
