It's ridiculous to believe the MACOs would go into a close-combat environment without bringing/using stun grenades. Given how poorly the phase pistols affected them in this scenario only reinforces this oversight.

It's odd that two phase pistol shots take down a mad Vulcan, but one of the MACO's rifles takes 3-5. One would think a rifle would be far more powerful than a pistol. If phase pistols are more powerful, why carry rifles at all? Especially in such close quarters where pistols are far more manuverable. In Second Season Episode 'Regeneration' Malcom Reeds increased all the phase pistols' High/Kill Settings from 5 MJ to 10 MJ to combat the Borg Drones. It could be that he didn't bother to reduce them back to normal. On the other hand, the MACO's Rifle could have a far lower Stun/Jolt Setting design for prisoner/riot control events.

It shouldn't have taken so long for the nanotech to assimulate Phlox. The Borg should have all the info needed to assimulate a Denobulan in a matter of minutes..not hours.

Trip picks up an asteroid chunk off the transporter pad that was floating in space a few seconds before. His hands should have frozen to it!

The Vulcan ship has been drifting in the asteroid field for nine months, unpowered and unhelmed. And yet it's managed to not be substantively hit by a single erratically-moving asteroid, even though the shuttlepod has great trouble avoiding them when being actively piloted.
