In all the Next Generation and Voyager episodes that involve the Borg, the only way to make the phasers harm the Borg after they had adapted was to modulate the frequencies of the phasers. However, all Malcolm had to was increase the output power of the phasers.

The notion of the Xindi being five distinct species is similar to how Deep Space Nine's Dominion were originally concieved. The idea of having the Founders, the Vorta and the Jem'Hadar was that if one element did not work it could be downplayed later without having to go back and reconsider everything. Presumably this will also be the case with the Xindi and if one species does not work they will be phased out or altered.

The head of the mining colony tries to kill Archer and company by redirecting plasma up into the shaft they're climbing in. After being captured, the leader wants Archer and company killed on the surface. Why not simply shoot them where they stand and then dump them into the plasma to get rid of the corpses?

The microphone the mining colony chief uses is a 1940s vintage carbon mike used by radio studios painted light gray.
