Episode Behind the Scenes

The footage of the NX project base on Earth seems to be of the same location used regularly in the show "7 Days" for the Back-Step project base.

One of the other test pilots mentioned is an officer named Gardener. Presumably, this is the same Gardener that Soval thought would be a better choice to command Enterprise in "Shadows of P'Jem".

The 602 Club seen in this episode was named after a tavern that had been in business from 1951 to 1994. Students at UW-Madison often spent time at the place, including Rick Berman during his college days.

Archer's rival, A.G. Robinson, is named after actor Andrew G. Robinson, who played Garak, the Cardassian spy/tailor on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine".

John Billingsley, Dominic Keating and Anthony Montgomery do not appear in this episode.
